This page allows users to explore information reported by Member States on Large Combustion Plants (LCPs).

The dashboard offers a dynamic exploration of LCPs, their capacity (MWth), the energy consumption (TJ), pollutant emissions (t) and geographical distribution across EU Member States. It is a snapshot on 2022, which is the most recent and complete reporting year. The whole dataset is available in the dowload page.

Furthermore, the dashboard highlights the largest LCPs in the EU27 in each Member State in red font.

When is an LCP considered among the largest in the viewer below? An LCP is considered among the largest if any of the reported information (thermal input, total energy input and emissions of each pollutant) is in the top 100 in the EU27.

The dashboard is divided in two sections:

  • The first one displays country-specific information and the user can use the map to highlight an LCP on the dashboard;
  • The second summarises the EU27 relevant LCP and shows their contribution in terms of installed capacity, pollutant emissions and fuel consumption in the EU27.
